Wash Buckle Series

An exploration of overlapping washes of color - usually keeping within the same color range but possibly changing from watercolor to ink, or from pearlescent ink to liquid watercolor, or some combination of the usual suspects.

Washes on paper could be all in the same orientation, in a grid, or random. Rather than work against the natural buckling/warping of the wet paper, the each peak and valley - or 'Hill and Dale' - was used to create depth, texture and interest.

'Wash Buckle' is a nod to both the process and the pirate-heavy vibe of Tampa Bay.
