The Curious Arc of 'Blue n Gold,' or "Riding High in April ..."

Blue n Gold
It's not Momento-level, but an interesting arc that highlights the capricious nature of the art world, and the process of entering art exhibits, in particular.
Blue n Gold was created in February of 2021, shared digitally on social media and this web site, and then professionally framed for exhibit in May. Since then, it has been ...
3/2 + selected for online sponsor's 'month of sharing'
5/21 - not selected for small gallery show in West Palm Beach
7/21 + appeared in local organization's members' show in Dunedin
7/21 + appeared in major, local weekend show in St Petersburg
8/21 + selected for local month-long community center show in Carrollwood
10/21 + honorable mention award in local arts organization's abstract exhibit in South Tampa
11/21 - not selected for significant arts center show in St Petersburg
12/21 ... major, local art fair in Tampa??
This is not a complaint, or meant to be a grand 'humble brag,' but an inside look at how the same work can be accepted, awarded and rejected in the span of a few months depending on the array of jurors' tastes that it comes across.
Persistence is crucial to finding the niche where your work fits. To paraphrase Frank Sinatra, your work could be "riding high in April, shot down in May," and then be "back on top in" October (or, with any luck, in December!)
Keep at it!
Cheers,
